A Little Bit Of History In 2004, a group of Christian businessmen purchased the shuttered St. Callistus School and parish from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The parish included school facilities, a chapel, a gym, a rectory, and a convent. With the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, future students, and eventually private contractors, Chicago Hope Academy began a full year of renovation. Highlights included hosting 200 volunteers from Aurora Christian High School who spent their spring break living on our gym floor by night and executing the demolition plan and chapel stage reconstruction by day. August 29, 2005 after a memorable grand opening ceremony, Chicago Hope Academy welcomed its first freshman and sophomore classes. It soon became clear in 2006 that future enrollments would necessitate additional classrooms and athletic facilities. Construction began on a new wing and continued through the summer. In fall 2007, five additional classrooms were added, in addition to a reception area for the chapel, and a state-of-the-art weight room and cardio room. A beautiful artificial turf surface was added to Hope Field and Altgeld Park in 2013. The Hope track was completed in 2019. Chicago Hope Academy continues to expand in the Near West Side community.

Swim schools provide a safe and encouraging space for children to learn how to swim or to improve their swimming ability, but not all swim schools are created equal. Here’s what sets British Swim School apart. Survival-First Approach Every student will learn survival skills before stroke techniques, so they are prepared to survive an accidental fall into the water. Water survival is a different skill set from swimming, and knowing how to survive means less worry for you as a parent. Goal-Oriented Program Students receive five clearly defined goals for each class level, and they advance individually and at their own pace. By monitoring these goals, our instructors know exactly what skill to work on with each swimmer. Confidence-Building Curriculum Our curriculum-based program allows swimmers to follow the class structure they’ve become accustomed to as they advance. Constantly achieving new goals keeps students motivated and leads to faster progress. Fun, Gentle Teaching Methods British Swim School instructors are amazingly-friendly and highly trained in how to teach swimmers of all ages. They know how to make learning fun and comfortable, so your loved one will enjoy classes and look forward to the next lesson. Small Class Sizes Individualized learning shows faster results, which is why our classes have a maximum student to instructor ratio of 6:1. This allows the instructor to spend one-on-one time with each student and personalize the teaching methods. Year-Round Enrollment Our program is available year-round because learning water survival skills and proper swimming techniques takes time. New students can start at any time, and no student needs to stop learning because the session is over.
NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO SETTLE FOR SO-SO COFFEE. Too many people settle for low quality coffee: coffee that relies on cream, sugar, or artificial flavorings to taste "good." But we know that truly good coffee is amazing all by itself. So we created a roasting company to delight coffee lovers, and entice coffee drinkers into the same delicious experience that we get to enjoy every day. (oh yeah, that's us in the pic!)
